Georgia Strait Alliance is the only citizens' group focused on protecting the marine environment in and around the whole Strait of Georgia – Canada's most at-risk natural environment, and the place where 70% of British Columbians live, work and play. We are committed to a future for our region that includes clean water and air, healthy wild salmon runs, rich marine life and natural areas, and sustainable communities.

New website and blog kicks off next 25 years!

Protecting, restoring and promoting the sustainability of Georgia Strait and its marine environment has been the mission of Georgia Strait Alliance for 25 years. As we celebrate the quarter century milestone, we’re not taking a break from the job – they’re kicking off the occasion with a brand new website and blog.

Our old website served us well, but as we added more and more content over the years and had to make more quick fixes to keep it together, we realized last year it was time for a change. GSA has been so busy protecting the Georgia Strait that we’ve had no choice but to keep the site together with band-aids.

Our new website and blog have been a labour of love as hundreds of hours were spent in strategizing, design, as well archiving, rewriting and editing content, but we’re really proud of the outcome. The new design and improved functionality of our new site is going to help us immensely as we continue to connect with the community we serve into the next 25 years.

What was once an overwhelming girth of 1200 pages has blossomed under the artful touch of the talented people at Raised Eyebrow to a streamlined, easy to navigate, functional, and beautifully svelte new site.

GSA is grateful to MEC for supporting the project and to a seeming cast of thousands who made this possible.

GSA will no longer be posting here on our old blog, and all our old posts are in the new location, so please join us on our new blog for up to date posts on our marine conservation efforts!
